Anthimos, Metropolitan of Thessaloniki

He was born in 1934 in Peloponnesus. He studied Byzantine Philology and Theology at the Univ. of Athens. He was ordained as a deacon in 1964. In 1974 he was elected from the Holy Synod as the Metropolitan of Alexandroupolis, Traianoupolis and Samothrace. In 2004 he was elected as the new Metropolitan of Thessaloniki (Macedonia). He has published books, studies and articles.
