WE COULD THINK OF internet as something open, or rather constantly opening. This isn't its most crucial for us aspect, but it is one of its main characteristics. In terms of content, internet is as unpredictable as the world and us are - and this exactly is the internet beauty. Its magic, though, which attracts even people that haven't ever used it, is the constant increase of its power. Possibilities in content correspond to deposits of power.

Internet combines a great variety of means to let us understand the world and each other. There are great sites that publish the most precious thoughts humanity ever produced or, maybe, will ever produce. We can easily find texts, images or music of such a quality, that one feels happy just to have started understanding them, never dreaming of the possibility that he would ever be able to fully comprehend them - not to mention the possibility of conceiving and realizing works like those. Internet can create powerful circumstances for a communication enhancement, yet we have to recognise the absolutely necessary limits of that power, so that we could let the spell go, while keeping its beauty.

The greater a work is, the more is in danger of the internet "easiness". It is in danger, because it is the work that matters and not us. If I'm not able to understand the New Testament, it isn't me in danger, but the New Testament! A word isn’t safe just because it has been once spoken. Internet enlarges a common mistake of ours - when we feel comfortable just because we’ve put our books in a beautiful library. From that aspect, a word becomes just letters and paper. A word lives only in the heart of the one who can understand it. If this place disappears, a word becomes a corpse of letters. Incapable people do not suffer any harm due to this loss, because what is worse than their incapacity? Yet, the word remains homeless and vanishes.

Therefore, as we travel from page to page in our on-line trips, let’s keep in mind what we are looking for, let’s pick up what we need and try to understand it as deeply as possible.

All great works function like mirrors, with the difference, that they have the ability to amplify whatever is mirrored in them. Show them your best image, so that they will live in that image and they will make it always better. This way the works we encounter come to life - they become us by transforming us and they are what we are.
